Misunfortunate Crx Decision.
Hey HT! i need your advice, thoughts, comments, suggestions. So please comment back. I gave it alot of thought but i can't come up with a conclusion. I just landed me a new job with intel! So i have money now!
Background: I used to owned a 90 Honda Crx hf. I baby it. I replaced almost everything on my crx. I been reading this crx thread for the past six to eight months and I can say I know pretty much alot about crx.
What happened: I was in the process of going from a sohc motor to a dohc motor. My hf had a si motor. So i was using all D series aftermarket parts. After driving the si motor, i urge for more power. So i read alot on the B series motors and I went and placed a order from Hmotorsonline for a 95 B18c Gsr motor, obd1 complete. Before the motor arrived, I had a major problem where I have to move out cause my roommate moved from one college to another. So i have no chance but to put the crx on hold til i find a apartment or someone to live with. 2 days into looking for a place to live, my crx was stolen and vadalised. It was to a point where it's so bad, I almost cried. All the time spent on it. I thougth about it for 2 weeks wheather i should work on it or spend 2.8k to fix it back up. That was an estimate from a shop. I was left with the option of departing it. So i sold it. the gsr motor was moved to my parent's house and haven't been unwrapped. Now that i landed a job at intel. Very busy, which gives me no time to work on cars. I could say my life is getting bettter now. through that whole month, I miss my crx. Couldn't eat right. When i go outside driving and see another crx.. I just go " damn ". So my question is..
For sure i'm getting another Crx. ASAP. I just need some suggestion.
Should i look for a crx with a gsr motor already put in it?
Or should i just buy another crx and put the 95 gsr motor that i have at home?

i put down my black 88 si (traded for z6) and got a new yellow 88 si and i havent driven a crx in almost 2 months, everytime i see one i say "i wanna buy it" and no one around me gets it. i saw a red turbo crx the other day and that was some motivation to get my new one all put back together so i can hear my bov again, its been rough having to drive my truck so much, especially since i only get 13-15mpg in the truck and i prollly got 25 in the rex

Well time being short it's hard to get a CRX with the intent of putting an engine in it, unless you can have someone else put the engine in for you that is trustworthy with your car.
(And most shops, especially ones that will "give you a great deal" on installation, are not trustworthy.)
I'll tell ya tho
the desire to rebuild it to that former glory doesn't go away. I lost one, i rebuilt one - checkout my gallery in my sig,
(Still paranoid as hell about vandals / theives, you'll end up with a killer security system.)
I recommend you find a well built CRX, non-rice. They're out there, but they're rare. A friend of mine may be selling his. checkout the Norcalcrx.org boards, people there will help you find the CRX you're looking for. Most of us think like you and we're kinda local so that helps alot. I'll think of you when i'm checkin craigslist.
Ryan (droppedcrxsi) just bought a white 89 dx with JDM front end and ZC for 1900.. the deals are out there. It's pretty solid
soon to be K20!

Thats sad and misunfortunate, hell yes.
But, you can make the times change. No matter how hard it was.
Just get another CRX, and it will bring the smile back to your face. Trust me.

around here in texas..u can pick up an unmolsted crx pretty easy..and pretty cheap...Buy another 88+crx and drop that motor in their...if it looks shiity on the outside..thats wut ur goin 4...shiity on the outside but all the power on the inside..good luck man..and might i suggest u invest in an Alarm System..or a nice 9mm....good luck
around here, it is difficult to find CRXs that other people have not screwed up.
i have seen many where people thought they were mechanics and or body techs. i wish folks would quit ruining interiors with amater paint jobs and ridiculous colors. when i see painted interiors, i mostly want to throw up, then, i get sicker realizing that there is another of these rare cars that some dumbass has ruined
