OT: Went to the dealer today...
I ended up talking to the guy who sold me my R, he said they have had confirmation from Acura that the DC5 Type R is coming, FOR SURE, in two to three years.
Also, he let me into the shop so I could see an RSX Type S block. One with 2" holes in either side of it. YIKES! Also, the clutch disk looked like someone had been hitting it with a pick ax. All with only 6K kms on the odometer lol.

I don't think Honda's too worried about losing buyers to the STI and the Evo.
If the RSX R is sold in small quantitys like our R's were, they should have no problem selling them all....I hope!

Doesnt the DC5 RSX(Integra
) -R have something like 225hp?
And I don't think it will loose that many customers to the Sti and Evo VII.
Personally, I don't think the DC5 TypeR belongs in the same category as the Sti and Evo VII are in.

I don't think Honda really cares about the EVO or STi. Honda doesn't make money off of the Type R's (unless you count a mark up fee as a big profit, but alot of you guys say you got your ITR's for MSRP). They make most of their money off of their best selling cars such as the civic/accord. In my opinion, Honda's direction is towards the mainstream consumer cause thats where the money is and they don't care about us anymore =*(

It's a good guess that Honda makes money on all the cars it builds except the NSX. I'm not sure they make more money, or less money, on each Civic they sell than on each Integra Type R; it's probably roughly the same.
Dealers, OTOH, make a lot more money on an Integra Type R, which they can sell for MSRP (at a profit of around $2-3K), than a Civic, which they have to discount from MSRP and probably sell at a profit of anywhere from $300 to $1K per car. They LOVE having a car they can sell for MSRP.
I don't think Honda has any direction towards their mainstream customer and away from the enthusiast marketplace. Evidence: (1) They brought back the low-volume ITR the past two years. (2) They sell the low-volume S2000. (3) They just did a facelift on the NSX and are working on an all-new NSX, despite its dismal sales. (4) By all reports, there will be an RSX Type R.
I think it's supposed to have 220.
It sure would be nice to see the rsx type r over on US soil. I doubt it'll sport jdm recaros or brembo brakes, they gotta cut back on some goodies to cover the import tax

However, I wouldn't be surprised if they kill the JDM Recaro seats just because the size of the average American driver is bigger than the size of the average Japanese driver.

which dealer is it??...if it's richmond acura, forget it...ppl there like to bullsh!t
I think that limited production is a thing of the past. The DC5 R's in Japan don't have number plates like the DC2s did, right?
