NEED HELP (noob question)
i'm in the process of buying an EF and trying to swap at the same time.
I need help in opinions with the engine i should get and research (i'm trying to learn as much as i can) does anyone have an opinion of what engine i should drop in. I'm thinking between a ZCG/ or an OBD1 b16. If anyone has a suggestion to advantage or disadvantage of each it would be really great or if they have another engine in mind.
If anyone has tried to drop in these motors, how easy is it to drop in? How long did it take? and if they ran an a/c with it.
THANKS FOR THE HELP...i really need opinions so if anyone can drop some knowledge please or a link where i can make a better informed decision

OBD1 b16a-electronics are better than the OBD0 b16a. Newer motor with less mileage usually.
If you don't mid me asking what is a ZCG???
I swapped an OBD0 b16a and it took me approx a weekend and a little bit of the following monday but I was a noob at that point.
I ditched the ac but it can be run with the correct bracket for the compressor.

If you don't even own a CRX yet, how do you know you need to swap an engine? Get a nice 90-91 CRX si and keep it clean and stock. They are still fun as hell to drive stock, and it keeps getting harder and harder to find nice lookin stock CRX's. Although I like my swap, I would kill for a 91 black si with 100k miles stock. Just my $0.02
EDIT: Plus it seems like eveyone in CA that has as little as glo guage panel is getting there car jacked. Once you start putting rims, swapped engines, exhaust your just inviting people to jack your ish and you will live 24/7 with this constant worrying in the back of your head, wondering when you wake up if your car will still be there.

japanese engine that i think from what i remember from the honda book that i read it was the ones that came off a del sol in japan...runnin 160 hp and a 10:4:1 compression....i'm still pretty new at this...i'm being helped by my boy and this forum for now for all the knowledge.
Not to pry, but why is it something you always wanted to do?
Here is what I think
valid reason:
1. Want the challenge of putting a new engine into a car
2. Already own the car, and current engine is not fixable
3. I want to road race the car in SCCA/NASA in a specific class that allows modified engine.
invalid reason:
1. Want to show off to friends
2. Because 'joe schmow" has one, and I want to be cooler than him
3. I want to be a street racer

um, id just say leave the harness in 0bd0 for a b16. ive never actually done the swap myself, but its probly the easiest one to do for b series, from what ive heard, it takes like a weekend if its si (mpfi), if its dpfi which is in the dx and std im pretty sure, it takes a little longer cause u gotta rewire the harness for mpfi
but ya, a b16 is a nice engine to start off with if uve got around 2k, which is also what im going for.

because i want to. I love hondas...ever since i was a kid that was the only thing i want. To have some car that i can work on with my own hands. If i think a 91 ef9 is the best looking car out there and i want to fix it up so i can have speed to match with (the speed that i want, i don't want to run 8 sec on the street kind thing). I'm not here to show off, i'm not here to be better than anybody, if not i'd be asking for b18c1 swaps just for speed.
