Default BRAKE PROBLEM!!!!! PLEASE HELP!@!!!!!

so im changing the rotors and brakes on my 90 crx, well first i replaced the passenger side front knuckle with one from a junkyard, it said it came from an 88 crx std i think
but the problem is that i changed the rotors and pads on the drivers said with ease but on the passenger side the caliper will not go on there without force and when it does get in place and i put the bolts on and everything it is on so tight that the rotor will not spin at all like its completely seized up. im using the original caliper that came with the car so im using a 90 dx caliper but the 88 crx knuckle im guessing that this is the only thing left to try because ive tried everything to get it on there but its on so tight it wont let the rotor spin at all. i finally got the bottom part to go in smoothly but the top part will not go on at all without some force. ive ran out of ideas, what i think is the caliper is either bent somehow which i doubt or i need to use a different caliper. please help someone im trying to get the wheels back on my shell so i can push it in and out of my garage

please help. what could it be? i was thinking of taking a sander to the new brake pads to get it to fit. the thing is that it does it on the old pads, which i found out are actually very new but just have a little bit of surface rust on them.......

PLEASE HELP!

Have you tried to compress the piston back into the caliper to give them clearance? With a C-clamp? That may be all they need, just to get freed up.

Otherwise I'd guess the caliper is seized and you may need to rebuild it or get another one.....

Its because the 88 hf knuckle is not the same as the 90 dx knuckle, nor do they use compatible calipers according to the part numbers on Majestic Honda's website. Why did you replace the knuckle to begin with? Anyways, if I were you, i'd try to find either 90 dx knuckle or a knuckle with caliper.

i BELIEVE that the std knuckle is the same as the hf knuckle. go and get one of a dx or si. or, if you can find ex ones, get both sides, and mail them to me, and i'll mail you a good knucke for your side.

yes i did compress the piston all the way back into the caliper.
the problem started when i put the new rotor on which is much thicker than the one that came with the knuckle.

sorry to bring this up again but is it possible that the reason it doesnt fit is because the caliper bolts are siezed up because i know they are supposed to slide or even move a little bit but these are stuck on there.i removed the one but the other one i cantpull the caliper open more than like 2 inches its so rusted

could that be the reason that my caliper is not fitting over my rotor? oh and i looked at the knuckle i got and i guess it was just an 88dx not std like i read

oh and i replaced the knuckle because, the person i bought it from forgot to bolt down the tie rod ends ( it was a shell in his backyard) and when i was pulling it home the tie rods came off the knuckle and all this mess and effed everything up

what i did see with my knuckle that i bought is that the rotor is alot thinner and the
caliper is totally different than the 90dx one that came with. the thing is
im using 90dx rotors and the 90dx caliper so why wouldnt it fit ?

Looks to me like you've got the HF (STD?) calipers, and are trying to put them over the DX/Si rotors. The HF discs are 17mm thick (new) and the DX/Si are 19mm thick.

nah man i got the 90dx rotors which are thick and the 90dx calipers but it seems that the brake pads are not going completely over the rotor and are stopping it from going on good. i can force it on there and bolt it all up but the wheel will not spin at all.

the caliper pistons have been pushed back already and still nothing. i did the drivers side brakes and rotors and it was simple. no problems at all. i dont see a reason for the passenger side not to go on smooth unless the reason it doesnt fit on is because my caliper bolts are siezed up and dont move ( which they dont and are siezed up atleast the one with the round cap on it is) i was just trying to find out if buying a remanufactered caliper is worth it and if it would fix my problem

i dont think you're getting me. im using 90 dx rotor, caliper, pads. caliper wont fit onto rotor without force and when it is it wont let the rotor spin at all. could it be because my caliper isnt 'floating' it wont move side to side at all, as in its siezed up. could that be why i cant get the **** on the rotor?
