I`ve cams, t/b, K&N Filter, header, power fc and a few secrets..
Speedo pointed at 250km/h, fc commander, which I`ve mounted under the radio showed 231 km/h...
Well.....still boring...way too slow. I need a faster car.....

You will need something a lot more expensive then.
All the BMWs and Mercedes are electronically looked at 150 mph (or is that just in North America?).
So you will have to go to Porche, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 7, a few Italians beauties and what else ????

electronic lock is no problem to remove...
Next winter I`ll buy a calibra turbo 4wd, boost it up a little and here we go.
By keeping the R safe in the garage, of course..
A used Calibra and a little bit of tunig: 6000USD, that`s it

Sven for 6000USD you can buy a turbo kit for the ITR + ros + pisons and usual stuff and swap in the USDM 4.400 final drive. + a 215/40/17 or 225/45/16 tire + rev up to 9200rpm should put you up to about 305kmH
and hunt for some Calibras (which sucks, cause it is an Opel)
calculate it here: http://www.autocrossing.com/cgi-bin/gearcalc.cgi

Type R = n/a and should not be turboed. A question of philosophy
Hey Maijk,
how is your ITR so slow? Mine only with header and intake always touched 250 indicated km/h at 8600 indicated rpm.
Paul.

I drove a POS Opel on the Autobahn in Stuttgart, Germany - all the way down through Austria into Italy and back up to Prague. Europe is tight. Wanna go back there sometime - and try to find a better car.

For me, real speed begins at 250km/h...... So I`m really glad that the wheather gets better now and I can take the VFR (265km/h according to speedo).
Yeah! Rel speeding begins at 250kmH. Once I drove in a moded Audi S3 while the tach shows 275 I pissed into my pants. The road gets sooo small on that speed and the trucks in the right lane seems not to move.
Get me.....230kmH is okay but then you can feel every 5 kmH and your hands get wet.

I´ve got to 237kmh on the tach with no mods on the tricky and bendy country roads over here, I could have touched the 240 mark but the road wasnt long enough
just a few seconds after I slowed down came a police car

those european highways kick ****!
specially germanys!
wish i could say the same for italy & greece...the only decent highway is the one from athens to corinth
same here in sandiego, the roads suck!

I`m trying to make a picture of speedo AND FC Commander in one next time..
But I have to be careful... it`s dangerous to take the hands from the steering wheel at topspeed

Speedo and rpm`s are way off.. As far as you say you`ve got no VAFC or FC commander or something, let me tell you that your 250km/h are real 230km/h and your 8600rpm are real 7900-8000rpm.. That`s the cruel truth.
For me, real speed begins at 250km/h...... So I`m really glad that the wheather gets better now and I can take the VFR (265km/h according to speedo).

Could you have a friend check for you (you should keep your eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel) the difference of rpm between your FC and the tachometer at several rpm ( ex: at 1000 rpm, 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm...) to see where they star to be different. Maybe do this in third gear or something so your friend don't freak out on you at 230 kmph
Thanks
Sorry Maijk,
but i have to disagree with you.
On the high revolution range my tack it's 350 rpm off.
This value was misured on the dyno with digital tack where the cutoff for my ITR was 8655 rpm at indicated 9000.
So at indicated 8600 rpm, that i usually reach in fifth gear, the real revolution has to be about 8250.
With stock (new) tires and our jdm fifth gear the speed it's 28,7 km/h at 1000 rpm that corrisponds to a speed of 236/237 at the 8250 rpm.
The magazine "Elaborare" when tested ITR with Datron, measured 232,5 km/h real max speed for a stock ITR at 8100 rpm at an indicated 244 km/h on the speedo.
For not to mention that a neighbour of mine own an ITR with Mugen 4-1 header, full Mugen exaust, Mugen ecu, head gasket & tuning: 260 km/h max speed at 9000 rpm, both indicated.
For your modded ITR with cams, ecu & bolts 250 indicated km/h is a bit slow and let to think that the engine isn't well tuned.
Paul.

My R isn`t slow, it`s tuned for midrange power, not top end.. I have a small header and exhaust for high air flow from low to midrange. At full throttle there`s too much backpressure so the hp produced from the engine get reduced by the exhaust.. that`s normal.
