Default Cutting your Springs

Hey ever since i bout this civic i been having many bad moments with the suspension. The idiot who had the car before put in lowering shocks but regular springs. the springs are really compressed. So everytime i hit any type of not smooth road the **** feels like the cars falling apart. Is it a smart idea to cut the springs.

Are you sure it is your springs makeing that noise? It could just be a ball joint or a bushing going out or it could just be a lose bolt in ur suspension. but i have cut springs before when i could not afford springs. It did not hurt anything.

cutting the springs is never a good idea. It will ruin the rate among other things

Cutting the stock springs is quite possibly one of the most retarded 'modifications' that you can possibly do to your car. Either that, or heating up the springs.

Lowering springs aren't that much... Even good one's are cheap.

That's just my opinion.

I never go the "cheap" route when it comes to suspension/engine/internals/oils&lubricants...you shouldn't either.

My gf's altima has cut springs....ghetto as ****...don't do it

I used to cut peoples springs because they were to cheap to buy some coilovers/lowering spring. As long as the shocks are still good and not shot to hell then you should be fine.
