Default Need to spice up my lil B16

I got an 89 Civic HB with the pos 1.5 in it. I recently bought a motor and tranny combo from nippon motors and I want to see what I can do to it to get all the horses hidin in there to come out. I have a budget of about $2,000. I am wanting to go all the way through the engine, inside and out...so what are some small mods that I can do to help out?? Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

get some high compression pistons, good cams, itr manifold and an-r headers. if u have extra money get a p28 ecu chip and get the bitch tuned. if u want to get ur hidden horses get the bitch tuned. and and look into a good pnp. $2g's isnt go to be enough. or u can save up for a turbo.

Build an LS block on the side with B16 pistons, and keep it cheap: over 11:1 compression and 1.8 litres =

you have a engine, and its not in your car, you want it decent...

start with adding up the cost of mounts, and linkage, axles, then

replace the waterpump and timing belt, all the seals, replace the rings, do a rebuild.

then if you hace the cash
you can port match and clean up the intake and exhaust.... get some gsr, itr, ctr cams, full 2.5 exhaust.

ya I spent 1600 on my engine, and another 1600 putting it in... and thats with pretty low cost mounts and linkage and stuff... make sure you do all your research first and foremost!

definately do cams w/gears, intake manifold, headers, fuel rail with adjustable regulator and guage... that way you can tune the cams to the max... I have been very happy with the stock b16 power, but will be getting some Blox type A cams by the end of summer I hope... get probably 15-20 more whp from the dyno sheets I have seen on them plus better midrange poer than the type B's and they do not require a valvetrain upgrade.... but if you have the money many people would say to use the ITR valvesprings, and titanium retainers if you do want the higher lift cams... but once again, do your research!
