i'm running a b16a2 fully built portflow head with skunk stage 2's,stock ls bottom, all bolt ons,walbaro fuel pump,pressure reg and guage,etc...basically my vtec is not kicking in but the vtec code is not turning up on my check engine...also we have ran all checks as far as timing,fuel,air,compression check, and nothing has rang a bell...need some help fellas...

 

Hmm...could be a number of things...vtec solenoid ground, connections to ecu, oil pressure switch, bad ecu?

first check to see if vtec solenoid clicks on...

 

knock sensor?

 

Ahh yes...Knock sensor...I hope you had tapped one in on your b18 block...

 

check the screen in the vtec solenoid

 

i didn't have a knock sensor and mine worked do you have any other codes comming up

same here

 

my friend had the same problem, he didnt ground his Vtec soleniod, but when he did ground it to the thermostat housing Vtec hit everytime, and he had no knock sensor wired either and ran a mugen chipped p28 ecu
