F22 vs H22\3
Anyone know anywhere I can find ALL the differnces between the F22 and the H23? I can get a 4th gen s for really cheap, I'm just trying to figure out if its worth it...4995...in good condition w/ only 50k on the engine. Any input would help. TIA.
Factory service manual will tell you EVERY difference. as for an engine swap, that's what I'm doing right now, and it's not that hard at all. It's probably the easiest swaP you can do.
There are a few major differences between the F22 the H23 and the H22. First off, the F22 has a SOHC setup, where as both the H23 and H22 are DOHC. The H22 motor uses Honda's VTEC technology, while the other engines do not. There are some variations of the F22 and the H23 that do feature VTEC although their power outputs don't provide much more than their non-VTEC siblings. I believe these engines are found in the newer Accords. Power output from these engines are as follows; F22=135bhp, H23=160bhp and H22=195bhp. Compression ratios are different as well, but I can't think of the exact figures off the top of my head. From what I know the H23 adapts very well to turbocharging and the H22 adapts well to supercharging and all-motor build-ups. So, basically all three of these engines are different (more differences than I could list here) and if you need to know any more, do a search and I'm sure you'll find much more info. I hope that helps.
****, I didnt think it was that bad in the f22. I didnt know it was an SOHC. I think I'll just keep saving for an h23, the go turbo. I dont wanna deal with a swap and a turbo.
