Default Surging idle and "wind" coming from oil cap?

My sons 93' Accord has the infamous up and down surging idle problem with a twist. When you take off the oil filler cap their is a considerable "wind" coming out. Is this caused by blowby or is there a easier fix than new rings I think I know the answer to this one but I am in denial.

the blowby is normal, the surging idle is most likely a fitv problem or airpockets in the cooling system...

Ok, you got me their what is a "fitv" thing. I am used to Jaguars and BMW's. They don't have "fitv" but perhaps by a different name On his 93' at the thermostat housing their is no way to vent the cooling system. Is their another way to do it?

Thanks

it stands for fast idle thermo valve, it controls the idle when the engine is warming up... i believe on 4 gen accords it is located on the intake manifold, in the front, it has two coolant lines going to it..search on here and someone gives a detailed explanation on what it does and how to fix it if thats what causing your idle problems. sounds like it is...

also to bleed the cooling system the bleeder screw should be located on the thremostat housing, a little 10mm screw with a little "spout" coming out on top of it..

hope this helps man...
