Default Wristpin diameter comparison (JE & Western)





Left to right:

1. JE .708" .120" wall
2. JE .787" .140" wall
3. Western Wristpin .866" 0.090" wall

The .708" pin will be used in our 2100cc, 2:1 r/s ratio development motor. The .787" pin is slated for duty in our 2415cc "all-around performer". The .866" Western Wristpin is what's in our 2240cc motor currently, as well as our 2672cc and 2140cc development motors but at different wall thickness.

I am sad to report that Western Wristpin has closed its doors. Perhaps they will reopen, but in the meantime we needed quality pins for the 2100cc and 2415cc motors. The JE pins are machined from the same 52100 material and feature similar through hardening by means of honing each pin. They also have a radiused ID, but not as generous as the Western's.
