Will a d16a6 intake manifold bolt onto a d16y8 head?
Im not sure about the port matching on the engine, but as far as the intake port, they're totally different. A d16y8 manifold is horizontal, while an a6 is vertical, just some heads up for ya
I'm doing the auto to manual conversion, I need the 5 speed Y8 Intake Manifold because of the IACV wire going from 3 wires to 2. I thought an A6 would work but I'm apparently wrong. So I need to find this IM before I can do the swap.
its not NECESSARY that you get the M/T Y8 one, cause there is a wiring trick. However, if your car (im assuming it has a D16Y8, you have a 6th gen civic automatic) if its a 99 or 00 model, you may have "air injection" into the intake manifold, inwhich case, i can guarantee the A6 is not a direct bolt on. However, with some tubing and creativity, its doable. Technically the manifold swap you want to do is not 100% needed.
What year/car is the D16A6 found in? aint that a non-PGMFI motor? (whats the word im lookin for)

You're absolutely right. With some wiring and a little jb-weld it's not needed however, the guy I'm paying to do my swap only has 2 days to do it in. I cant expect him to fabricate in that ammount of time. I would rather just find the manual version and call it a day
