I would have posted this in the cosmetics forum but i didnt have permission, im trying to decide how many quarts of paint and clear coat i shoudl buy to paint my car .. . . 92 hatch . . . . Any ideas? Thanks guys

call a local paint shop...they should be able to tell you how much they use.

 

I just recently had my hatch painted.

It depends on a lot of things.

1- type of gun-needle you are using , especially the gun.
Good gun lays paint out real well and doesnt waste it.

2- How think you want it.

3-what primer are you going with.

Just curious what color are you painting your car, i just painted mine a copy of milano red in OMNI paint because Milano red is a tri stage paint it was far too exspensive for me just for a good looking street car.

I got my car painted for 500 bucks worth of prep paint and materials. 250 dollar primer sealer and hardener, and the rest on paintetc, gallon of paint gallon of clear. I have a cf hood and trunk and ended up using 3/4 of the gallon and alot of the clear and did 4 coat base 4 coat clear.

ahh, i havent decided on the color yet, im thinking about a gunmetal grey with some flake in it, i figured i could do it with 3 quarts of paint, not including the clear and primer, its my first time painting a car, so im jsut learning as i go, i thoguth about trying do to a pearl color , but i know nothing about how to mix the pearl wit hthe paint and what not, any palces you can buy pre mixed pearl colors? =P but anyway, yeah its my first itme, gotta learn somehow, may as well be from honda-tech. =P Thanks
