Default Should I stay or should I go now......

Well, it seem as the time since I have driven my 1990 Civic Hatchie has hit about a year. I have lost interest and I am feeling that I should focus on my child and leave the dream of a single cam beast along the waste-side. I have JUST got the car running, barely. I am still throwing codes 3 and 5 and have found another new issue. The tranny has a leak. It could be the axle seal or some minute gasket of sorts, but I am at my wits end.
I am a closet mechanic by all means of descriptions. I have done almost all the work on this car, except dropping in the motor, and I just don't have the time for it. I am a single parent working two jobs and still pay for everything. This includes the insurance and garage costs for a car that doesn't run...that doesn't run very well. Not to mention child care, all bills, rent, second car payment and insurance,etc... I am about to say and chuck the car all together.
I know parting it out would be a bitch, but time and monies spent are really dragging me down. What would fellow lovers of the most magnificent chassis produced think of all this?

SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?

Family comes first. Toys come later. Worry about supporting your child first. Everything else will fall into place at the appropriate time. We'll still be here.

Well there is away to balance out the two. I have 2 kids and about 3 cars that i am working on. Just try not to spend so much time on them and leave time for family to. You don't have to just give up your dream. Now maybe it's because my girl is into this stuff just as much as me, but I have been able to balance out the two. good luck.

Not everyone gets to be a father but anyone with a wad of bills can buy a car.

Get a cover and keep her if you can if not let it go.

you'll be able to get a project down line no worries

Put the project to the side.
You don't want your kid hating you and the EF cuz in his/her eyes, as they grow up, they see you spend more time/money on the car then them.

Spend time with your kid, be a father, and when things mellow out start a project with your kid

Nothing like a father son/daughter preping the car for a run down the track

I swear if i have a daughter she will be gettin her monthly dose of Cosmo and Honda Tuning in the mail every month

Leave the car aside. When you think your problems are solved, another one pops out and so on... Take care of your kid first.

Sell the kid. If you think it costs a bundle now, wait until she wants to go to school and pesky things like that.

nice.. i was actually going to write something along those lines. bas ya got to it first.

if you can ditch the insurance and store the car behind the house with a car cover over it i would do that... and then maybe 6 months from now go work on it for a couple days. then let it go for a little while.

keep the kid let the car go.. lol
