vtec-e bad for autox
i was wondering if vtec-e(d16z1) is better for autox than vtec(d16z6)? i have those motors in there b/c those are the motors in the cars i might get. would the z1 make power quicker and then be better?
Right now you'd still suck even if you were driving an Enzo.
You might want to actually start driving at an autox before you ask questions. Couch racing with your 400000 hp 100 lb Civic is fun, but in the real world you have to learn how to control and use what you have.
You are concerning yourself with details you shouldn't be worrying about.

but if he doesnt have a car yet he may as well get the car hat will serve him best once he is good.
in your instance he may suck for an enzo, that's no rason not to drive one if it's avaliable to him over, say a 91 civic sedan.

Let's put it this way.
Jeremy Clarkson drove a Jaguar S-Type around Nurburgring in 1:59.
A professional race driver took a Ford Van around the Ring in 10:08
So sip on that a little while.

Its my belief that instead of spending 8 hrs researching what car to get one could spend those 8 hrs driving which would yield better results.
This kid has made countless posts wanting to know if a > b < c >= d and if engine swap 1.1 is better than 1.4, etc. To me that sounds almost like someone wants the super swapped blingified rice car that will see 1 or 2 autoxes. (Kinda like the guy in the Sentra last weekend who was listening to his super cool rap cd which taking a cruise around the course, did that 6 freaking times.)
Get a car, after a year or two when you have reached the max potential of the car consider another one. Or you could spend 2 years researching the best car and then spend another 2 years working on your driving.
My 2 cents, for whatever its worth.

So... what's your point?

I understand that.
So if you were going to give a comparison like that, shouldn't the professional driver have turned a faster time in a slower vehicle?

Your analogy or whatever you want to call it makes no sense.
10:08 sounds like a slowish lap on the Nordschleife, 22.8km.
1:59 sounds like a lap at the Grand Prix circuit at Nurburgring, which is 5.148km.
How can you compare these two? Not even the same track.

Autocrossing is definetly about the driver mostly. But also having power in the right place at the right time doesn't hurt either. Alot of times i see hondas having trouble get power when they need it because they can't keep their RPMs up high enough to be in the powerband.
But also there is a guy were i race that has like a 89 Prelude thats bone stock with race tires out and he out run the majority of people that race.
