ok this is the situation my check engine light has been on for the past 500 miles when i turn my car on it blinks once and i'm not sure but i think thats the oxygen sensor #1 so wut the hell is wrong?? i checked the sensor on the exhaust mani and it looks good and its deffinately connected so wuts wrong?? please help
When you first turn on the car the check engine light is supposed to come on then turn off after a few seconds. That is normal. If it stays on then you have to check the code.
a solid blink is 10 and a short blink is 1 so if its long I think its the IAT sensor.. Chances are thast not it beucase I dont think those go bad.. I have a sensory if you're looking for one to replace yours with..

"On the passenger side of your car, under the dash beneath the glove box, you will find a green cover above the kickpanel that houses a blue connector that has two wires."

In the first post you will see what you need to look at. Just search.
Good luck.
The CEL is supposed to blink once after it comes back on just to remind you that you have the CEL. Jump that think and then look to see what code you have. GL.

if u have a 97 ex, that'll be an OBD-2
JUST GO TO AUTOZONE and "BORROW" the OBD2 READER for "FREE"
Usually it's a P0135 bank 1 sensor 1 code
That mean's it's before the cat or in the header itself
I just changed mine like 4 days ago...It's easy
Oh yeah make sure u warm up ur car before removing the 02 sensor....HEAT helps loosen the bolt "HEAT makes the metal expand or mandible"

thats where it is... just find it take the two sides of a paper clip and put it in and watch the check engine light flash... long = 10, short = 1 then check what code it is... the way ur explaining it right now makes it sound like its the normal check engine light that comes on when u start any car
