Default Signs of a blown Differential after being recovered from theft....HELP

So my car was stolen last week and recovered yesterday. Everything outside seemed okay, it even started when I turned the key. Problem is they busted the driveside axle... split the outer cv boot with axel bearings and grease all over the road. Thats the only reason why my car was found.. they parked it in front of a house in a residential area by my apartment not 1 mile away.
Long story short, I was able to jam the busted shaft into the axel cup to see if the car moved beacuse i was having haftshaft issues before (bearing failure), thats why I had it parked in the parking lot of my apt since the car was really undrivable at the time. Well, I let go of the clutch to see if the car is drivable but it doesn't, and even when its in gear and I push it with the motor off it roles without issue which is not suppose to happen.

CLIFF NOTES: 90 integra was stolen and I think the diff in my stock cable LS tranny may be blown so i could use some advice as to what the signs are of a blown diff. The gears shift into place except reverse which is really tight. Should I just buy a B16 tranny and forget the LS one I have in there instead of trying to diagnose the exact problem?

Thanks
~Eddie
