Only way to tell is either to put a new belt on and see if it runs or to pull the cylinder head and check for bent valves and yes your motor is an interference motor.

I fixed a friend's d15b2(should be the same for your car) when his belt snapped on the freeway ~80mph. I pulled the head to inspect anything and saw no signs if valve to piston interference. Slapped a new tbelt on and it ran like a champ.

Hondas are interference engines, but I'm wondering if this engine has a bit more clearance.

You'd save a lot of money doing it yourself.

It's really not that hard to do, but it's like 50 times easier if the engine is out of the car. A new belt will cost you anywhere from $40 to $80 depending on where you get etc.

Paying a mechanic to do it would cost more than the engine is worth. But if you do a little search im sure you can find a write up on how to do it.

same happened to me @ 80. Why is that?
You can spin the cam and the crankshaft independently to see if everything works.
It wouldn't hurt to pull the head & use a new gasket since you'll be doing the timing belt.
afaik 88+sohc are non interference
dohc (I heard) are interference

Pull the valve cover off and check your valve clearances, bent valves wont be able to retract all the way leaving you with a good sized gap.
