stock 93 eg does not start
Hello everyone. My car is a stock automatic 93 civic hatchback. Ran normal the day before and the next morning it would not start. The motor cranks over but doesn't fire up. There is a lot of clicking noise by the shifter. Another thing is when you put your key in the ignition to the start position you can press the brake and shift it into neutral, mine doesnt do it anymore. It's that #$!@ clicking that's preventing it from starting too I think. I would like to add that I found a headlight wire that was scraping the power steering pulley and that wire was bare to the metal. That's it.
Any ideas? shoot me
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

I used to have a 95 automatic eg that had the same problem one day, and I was able to shift it to neutral before, and it also stopped letting me do that when the problem starting began, all of the sudden like that. It is most likely your neutral safety switch. From talking to a guy at Honda, I found out that the 92-95 Automatic Civics have this problem A LOT. You can get a neutral safety switch for about $150 from Honda. Good luck.
Is the motor turning over? If so check for spark and fuel..If you are getting neither then try changing out the main relay under the dash above the hood popper latch.
Is there a place you can stick your key in the console by the shifter? You might want to pull the console and check that white switch (its long and moves while you move the shifter.) and make sure it all good and the wires are not damaged going to it. Sorry if this is not making any sense.
