LS/Vtec oil line
My boy friend is in the process of putting his LS/Vtec together for the first time and he is concerned about tapping off the oil pressure sending unit. We're pretty sure all the generic LS/Vtec kits use that hole the way it is but is the hole large enough to supply the head with enough oil for VTEC?? He was thinking about drilling it out larger and retapping to fit a larger fitting in it, but wasn't sure if it was completely necessary. After all that hole is not designed to have oil flow through it but instead just to be pressurized by the oil pump. I marked out the oil sending unit hole in the pic. And yes we are aware that there are other setups to run the oil like the GE adapter but hes decided not to use it. Thanks!
As easy as that fitting cracks stock, drilling it out and making the metal thinner would only make it worse. As much as he doesn't want to, he would be better off running a GE conversion kit.
