Back in March, we made a thread outlining the the current build up for the Civic Type R, and what parts were being added. Original thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1178604.
There was some flaming due to the fact that Loi was choosing Toda parts, instead of "brand X" parts. He wanted to run the parts that he sells at his shop, and so far, they've made a nice little combination, and he's quite happy at this point.
Today's dyno was to simply see where the car stands. The motor was just recently dropped in, and broken in (500 miles), and it was driveable, but pretty boring w/out any tuning, as it wasn't ready for full throttle. The management choice is still Power FC, but Hondata was borrowed on this occassion until more dyno time is available.
The set up:
Sleeved ITR 2.0 block
Toda Sports Injection
Toda Spec C cams & gears
Toda header
2.5in exhaust piping, test pipe, Spoon muffler
Hondata S200
RC 370's (maxed out, will be stepping up to something bigger)
Custom headwork by DV/DT Engineering
The small injectors caused Mr Church to keep the rev's low, letting off around 8,100rpm. With bigger injectors, and a larger exhaust, Mr Church believes an additional 15-20 peak hp would be available, although a larger exhaust is probably not something that will be considered at this point.
The tuning was performed on Church Automotives new dynopack.
Loi and SportcarMotion.com would like to thank Shawn of Church automotive testing, Earl of Laskey Racing, and Stan "The man" of DV/DT Engineering for all their help in this buildup. It's been a lot of fun thus far, and a real learning experience as well.

I drove the car tonight......................wow! Incredible. Just about any rpm, in any gear, step on the gas and the car rips toward redline. The LSD is incredible as well. Really fun car.

(6:50 AM 7/12/2005) rodrez.: Churchs new dynopack is within 2% of an average Dynojet, so just a few hp less. The old dynopack was about 10% above a dynojet.

It was mentioned in another thread as having to do with the voltage regulator in the old Dynapack beeing off a bit causing the readings to be a bit on the high side, and that this has been corrected on the new model, or something like that.
