Default OBX Throttle Body Spacer

I purchased an OBX Throttle Body Spacer for a 96 Civic DX the other day and installed it as soon as it arrived in the mail. After installation I noticed when I started up the car the engine is pulsating now I thought maybe the Ebay seller sent the wrong throttle body gasket . Well I ordered two OEM ones from Advance and installed the thing again and its still doing it. Any suggestions of what I should try or do before I send it back? Thanks for any help you can give.

make sure you have the gasket on correctly, my buddy removed his TB to install a new IM and installed the gasket backward and he had a vaccum leak.

Ok so I took the throttle body spacer off and hope I can get my money back from the replies I have realized I made a poor decision on what I picked. The new problem is the TB spacer is off and my engine is still doing the same thing. The only thing I can think is that when everything was getting a bath I dropped the butterfly so maybe that has something to do with it? Or like you said the gaskets backwards.

you have a vaccum leak somewhere you need to find it. double check everything. I think you need to buy a new gasket everytime you take the TB off. I was just thinking if you have a TB spacer you would probably need two gaskets one against the TB to the spacer and one between the spacer and the IM. did you?

I am in the same situation... I have a JDM D15B that was running fine until I installed the OBX throttle body spacer. It would rev from around 1000 RPM to 3000 RPM, now I have removed it and its still doing the same thing. This isn't a vaccum problem, the gasket is fine and the bolts are tightened. Also, I did unplug the MAP sensor, but I don't THINK that has anything to do with it. Please help me out if you can... thanks!

BTW, I'm using the IM from my blown D16Z6, but that shouldn't matter b/c it was running fine before I put the TBS on...

Increases the effective lenght of the intake runners.....sort of. It's the same idea as a spacer on a carb'd motor.

I drove it around for about 20 minutes and it did the same thing... not as bad though... jumps from about 1500 to 2500 instead of 1000 to 3000...is it safe for me to be driving it? it runs fine as long as I don't let it drop down to 1000 RPM

did u disconnect the coolant lines that go thru the the throttle body or the IACV? if so u have a bubble in that part of the cooling system that is causing the IACV to pulsate, since its the coolant that makes it open and close at certian times.

I had the OBX Throttle Body spacer on my 95 civic and it did the same thing, I took it to a shop after removing the spacer and they said it was the Gasket. So the guy made a new one and now its fine. Without spacer!
