what is the length of the resonator on a stock type r exhaust?
searched, most i found was about the intake resonator

 

Which one? There are two.

One is significantly longer than the other but the small one iirc is one major cause of the ITR's exhaust restriction.

I can measure mine tomorrow if noone answers you by then since it's just hangng around in the garage.

And right now I'm not near the garage.

 

i wasnt aware there were two... the reason im asking is because i own a 92 4dr with a custom 2.25" piping , bseries cat, oem type R muffler on my stock d15b7 and i was trying to get an idea of what size resonator i should buy if i get one... it actually sounds good once the car is warmed up with just cat and muffler, only raspy when the motor is cold

but just copying the same lengths may or may not produce what you want.

If you sift through some archived exhaust threads and or including "Magnaflow" as a search topic, you'll see that people may select one of several lengths from the available resonators for a particular desired result.

 

yeah, i use the search a lot ... i just dont want to overkill it with too long of a resonator since it already sounds good now, not like a bumble bee, just sometimes it gets a little iffy...
