Big thanks going out to you and your garage Steve.

Drove out from phoenix to Willowsprings for the Nasa CA/AZ crossover (7 hours or so). Upon arriving at the track and mounting my tires, i notice that my driver side front wheel bearing is exremely bad. The wheel was shaking so bad it look like all the lugs were halfway tightened.
After sourcing a wheel bearing from autoparts store some several hours later, i go to a local machine shop to have the old bearing pressed off, and the new one on. Unfortunately my amigo at the machine shop failed to mention that he didnt have a bearing splitter, and it would be impossible to remove the half of the bearing stuck on the hub..
hmm. this put me in a terrible fix. Its nearing 5pm, shops are all but closed, not to mention i dont know where ANY are, and now my car is all but impossible to get on a trailer, thanks to my missing from my spindle.
I remembered that i have some so cal honda buddies,thanks to mike honda and yoshi, and finally get ahold of Stock Steve. He invites me down to his shop to make the repair. I make it down there, long after closing but Steve doesnt seem to mind.
Unfortunately the wheel bearing had spun so badly on the hub, that it was now missing material and the bearing would not seat on the hub.. oh **** again...
Anyhow Steve ends up making some tack welds on the hub and files them down to spec to make sure that bearing is pressed nice and tight.
A bandaid fix indeed, but that was once badass bandaid!. tracked it all day sunday, and made a 6 hour drive home today as well.

i know this was much to long of a post, but i think Steve deserves all the credit he should get. I was really in a bad fix.

cliff note, - drove 7 hours to track my car, ran into serious car trouble, and Stock Steve @ Corner 3 garage bails me out.

if i never have to drive in LA traffic another day in my life, i will be a happy camper
took me almost 4 hours to get to Forest Lakes from Willow

thanks for the kind words Jeff, but i know you would have done the same for me. you and your brother went way out of your way, when you helped out two good friends of mine, Yoshi and Mike honda, when they were in a world of hurt on their way back from expo.
honored that i was able to repay you in some way.

it was good sharing a beer with ya, had it not been getting so late, i would have helped you finish the case

 

big ups to Steve and the og days when he built my bottom end in my garage. Oh by the way im going to bring my car by soon to deal with my crappy wiring that i did.

 

i've only been hearing good things about this guy--i need to make a trek down there
