I went to the dealer and they told me I needed a new egr valve and the ports cleaned. I balked at the 450$ price and decided to do it myself. Changing the valve on my 2000 civic hx couldn't have been easier, but do I have to remove the port or can I clean it in place? What do i use to break up the carbon? The dealer said they use an angled brush to drill it out. Then they told me they remove the manifold to do it. What's the right way to do it?
