Default Maplight alternative

There is a big blank spot in the headliner (in my DX) where I think I could fit a maplight from another car that will actually light up the car. Has anyone ever tried something like this or anyother method of actually providing light to the front area of the car?

you'd have to pull down some interior to get some more wires up there, wire it into your fuse box, it would work nice. for what fits, just go around a junkyard and look for maplights that would look good.

I figured I could steal the wires off the roof mount seatbelt light and run a jumper on the fusebox end into the other domelight circuit.
