Problem with my h22 hybrid EJ2
Hey what's everyone,
I drive a 95 civic coupe with an h22 swap and recently I've incountered some werid problem. When I push the car hard from 1st gear then shift quickly into 2nd gear at any rpm range, causing the wheels to lose a bit of traction, the car starts bogging on me pretty bad until I let off the gas. As the car is bogging the engine light comes on and off and won't turn on if I let off the gas. Then I've noticed that if Im pushing the car hard through 2nd gear and shift the same way I would shift when I encounter the problem from 1st-2nd gear I get the same problem in 3rd. Then a few days ago I encountered the problem and let off the gas so the car would stop bogging and then hit the gas hard to see if the car would continue to bogg, but it never did. The car drove fine but as the car hit 5000-5500rpms never engaged, so I hit the brakes, slowed down, downshift, and acclerated and vtec engaged no problem.
Recently I had the timing belt and water pump changed, and the day after picking up the car I ripped the oil pressure wire under the oil filter by accident but had it fixed right after...I had encountered a simlar problem when the motor was swapped, but after doing a full tune up the problem had gone away. Less than a year later and not driving the car much since the install a simlar problem pops up, I've been told by a cousin that it could possibly be my knock sensor which is causing this problem.
Anyone have any suggestions????
Thanks alot for the help, and sorry about the novel...Im dying to solve this annoying problem.

Yeah I just checked and my car is throwing two codes...one is code 12 for the EGR, but t hasn't been wired up yet, and the other one is code 22 for the Vtec Oil Pressure Switch.
clean your vtec sloenoid and the lil filter in it. you may be boggin because you are shifting at the vtec crossover and the fuel table is richer. when you let off the gas the car goes out of vtec and when you punch it there is anough oil pressure to kick vtec in correctly. Also check your oil level, Vtec is engaged by oil pressure if you dont have enough oil then it wont work.
This is my 2 cents.

This problem seemed to appear after I did an oil change and had cut the oil pressure wire running right under the oil filter by accident. I had the wire fixed at my mechanics but the problem hasn't gone away.
I see what your saying but this also happens if I shift quickly before vtec...seems like whenever the car loses a bit of traction it happens. If I shift slowly going into 2nd or 3rd the problem doesn't occur.
thanks for your help!
