Default Random battery drain

i got this freaking problem that pisses me off. sometimes the battery would drain slowly (in 12hrs) and i dunno0 what's doing that...it does it randomly too, for few weeks it will be fine and then it will drain, then for 1month it will be fine and then drain again...sometimes it does it 3 days in a row sometimes one day..i know im not leaving anything on, all the lights turn off, amplifier is fine (just changed it cause i thought that was the problem), my mechanic couldn't figure out the problem so he said he thinks its the amp but that was before, and now after i changed the amp it's still doing it...its driving me crazy..any suggestions?

I actually had this same exact problem last summer. It seems to have "magically" dissappeared. Ironically enough, it happened to me again tonight. The only pattern I can see is that it some how seems related to warmer weather (at least for me). Well ur not alone, and I have yet to find an answer for this... any other information on this would be great

i would think something is draining the battery if the battery is good. maybe check the alternator connections. maybe some ground wires. check em!

Last summer I checkd every fuse in both locations, every wire i could find. I would disc, the battery every time i parked the car, and then put an ammeter in-line to find when this occured. no luck, then it all stopped. I know electrical problems are the worst kind of problems to troubleshoot, but im really leaning toward an actually component of the car malfunctioning triggered by warmer weather...... the troubleshooting and research continues..............

Also I have now exactly the same problem!

It started about 1 month ago, it seems as if the alternator is not charging the battery, but I made it chek and its charging correctly.

I recently (about 2 1/2 months ago) moved my battery in the trunk of the car.

I don't know if it is a heat problem (evan if it all started now with the summer) but it never did it before and in the trunk there is much less heat than under the hood...

Well seems like you have more to check if you also moved ur batter to the trunk. The part I said about the summer and the hot weather, i dont actullay think the heat is killing the battery, but I do think that something in the car is affected by the heat in which is draining the battery. The last few days its been fine, and its been hotter than hell here too. the search continues.........

I believe wat was meant by "door latches" are the little black 'L' shaped triggers that turn the door lights and dome light on when the doors are open.......
