Default loose bolt INSIDE motor - need expert advice

a few months ago i misshifted at the dragstrip.... motor was running like ****. i opened up the head, i find four of my valves are missing the bolt on top of them... i found three... meaning i still had one missing...

i take off the head and the cylinders were fine, and i look EVERYWHERE for the bolt.... no where to be found... so i put everything back together and it runs fine....

a month later i run at an autoX, smoke EVERYWHERE!!! then i do an oil change and find the bolt stuck to my spoon magnetic drain plug... after driving the car around, daily driven, lots of smoke during VTEC, thats it..... then i check my oil after 3 weeks of changing my oil, NO OIL.... this is my problem

im about to take off my head yet again, MY QUESTION IS, HOW CAN I CHECK TO SEE IF THE BOLT FUCKED UP ANY OF THE OIL PASSAGES, ETC... i also want to know what else to check for... piston rings a possiblity?

did a compression test, 240 across the board.

motor is a JDM B18C-R....

A bolt that small probably made it down the drainback just fine and has been snuggled up to your magnetic drain plug for most of the time. My guess is that the damage was done when you lost the jam nuts in the first place, it's just gotten worse.

Man I don't think I have ever heard of someone losing one of those, had you just adjusted the valves?

funny how you say that........ this just happend to me last night on one of my buddies cars. i was in such a hurry doing a valve adjustment that i forgot to tighten 2 jam nuts. about 10mins later after driving the car around i heard a real loud tapping sound. i pull off the valve cover and i noticed that 2 jam nuts were missing. i found one and the other one dropped to the oil pan. it was a very long night. such a rookie mistake! lol. peace!

There is a screen in the oil pick-up that should not have allowed you to suck up the nut. If it got past that it would have fubared your oil pump immediately. Drain the oil, pull the pan and see where it went. If your oil pump is fine then your oil passages are fine.
