86 CRX dies at low idle?
Hey everybody. Long time lurker, first time registered and posting, great site!
If this is a dupe post please direct me to the current one and lock this one up. Thanks.
Anyhow, I've got an 86 CRX 1500 5spd. It's all stock except for the engine which came out of the automatic transmission version of that car. It's a JDM.
I've got the engine in and everything's hooked up but as it warms up and the idle goes down it eventually just dies once it gets low.
I spoke with the original owner about it and she said it was doing this with the old engine so I'm thinking it's something with the carburetor which I know very little about.
I'm going to check the idle adjuster today and a whatever else I can think of.
Any suggestions?
Also, I've been getting mixed responses on whether or not the engine will pass smog.
Being that the intake and exhaust are bolt on and all stock American which previously passed in California I don't see any reason the new engine wouldn't pass?
Anyone have any ideas on these?
Thanks.

The source of the problem was found!
The stupid people who were working on it thought it was an idle problem so they had adjusted the idle up nice and high and so when I replaced the missing vacuum line in the far back of the intake it suddenly worked but idled WAY too high.
Brought the adjustment back down and now it's just about perfect.
I'm still curious about the smog issue though?
