O.Z. Superlegerra's - will they work?
The car I'd use them for is a 92 hatchback.
The specs on the wheel is 15x7 +37 @ 11.5 lbs.
First of all, has anyone used these? The first set of tires will be something like an Azenis, but will probably transition to race tires thereafter.
My guess is I would avoid any backside rubbing, but might run into fender problems. With my other (more expensive) options like the SSR Comp or TE37, the offset is in the 42-43 range. This way, I could always add spacers to correct any problems. With the +37 though, I would be stuck.
I guess what I'm asking is... if I envision myself wanting to put 225 hoosiers on a set of wheels eventually, does anyone see a problem with my purchasing these wheels? Thanks... I asked in this forum because of your experience with the tires in question.

I have 16" OZ on my GSR w/ 37 offset and 205 are very close to rubbing and i have shaved the rear fender lip. I would say that 225 would rub alot. But you can take the wheels to any place that does repairs and have them shave a few mm off the inside of the hub too make it work.
Kosei K1 15x7 with a 38mm Offset mounted with 225-50-15 Toyo's RA1's fit in a EG hatch. So a 37mm OZ should also fit in a similar fashion ... I am looking at them as well .... BUT I have no idea if they will clear my ITR calipers up front
You cannot run super slammed ... some trial and error will detemine you minimum ride height, I run arround 1.5-2.0 max with 500f - 700r spring rates.
I just rolled the fender lip flush to fender to maximise clearance, you do get some rub up front at full lock. The rear has no-probs ... once I cut the rear lip flush with the fender.
Cheers

Thanks, I was wondering if any of these views were going to turn into replies.
Let me pose this a different way... if you had to choose an ideal offset, what would it be?

In a perfect world where I had more cash to play with : ) I would go with the SSR competitions in a 42mm offset, and use spacer(with extended studs) to correct any rubbing problems on the rear traillings arms, or go with some custom 3 piece 7.5" rims (Simmonds, etc) .... However being somewhat budget minded I am going stick with a a 37mm offset on a 7" wide rim .... If I need to, I will roll the fenders with a baseball bat to provide more clearance. My only concern with the 37mm offset 7" rims is that they will probably put more stress on the wheel bearings ... BUT I check them regularily and I will replace them as nessesary.
Maybe I should think of a better Title next time... having to do with speedvision or something.
I guess I'm just gonna call Tire Rack and flip a coin.
