USDM ITR cluster installation..
I just got a USDM ITR cluster yesterday. I tried to put it in right away in my 97 LS. Everything on the cluster is working fine, except the Fuel gauge. It keeps going all the way to F in a minute, and it moves to E in another minute. (so, bassically the fuel gauge going F to E every 5 minutes)
I am just wondering whether the cluster Fuel gauge is messed up, or is there someting that I have to do to install ITR cluster on my LS. A week ago I also tried to install a USDM GSR cluster on it, and it did the same thing. But when ever I put the original cluater, everyting works perfect. Does anybody ever have the same experience? And does anyone know to solve the problem? Please let me know. All help greatly appreciated....THanks

Swap the ITR gauges into into LS cluster housing. Each gauge is held in by 3-4 screws from the back. Then swap the left two icon clusters between the LS and ITR bezels and slap the ITR bezel onto the LS cluster housing with ITR gauges.

Ok, first you need to have both LS and ITR clusters side by side to make this easier. All you need is a Philips screwdriver. Starting from the back of the clusters, you will need to remove three screws found in these deep holes that are evenly spaced horizontally. There should be one in the middle and two on the left/right of the middle. Now remove both of the plastic bezels by pushing down the clips from the front of the cluster. Using your fingernails, remove the two left light icon clusters (the ones that say ABS, SRS, Trunk light, etc... and the bottom right cluster (maintenance...) from both bezels. Put the LS icon clusters onto the ITR bezel. Be careful not to break the plastic studs otherwise you will need to glue back thosr pieces. Now, behind each gauge there are 3-4 screws that hold them onto the cluster housing. Unscrew them making sure to separate the sets of screws because each set is particular to a certain gauges. Remove the gauges from the ITR cluster and put them into the LS cluster housing. Using the right screws for the right gauge, screw the gauges back into the housing. Make sure the screws are tight. Now replace the ITR bezel onto the LS cluster and screw in the three screws. Done.
i just put a 2001 usdm type r cluster in my 97 ls and all u have to do is replace the green films on the back of the cluster really easy to do.
