Default should the starter motor be hot?

i just replaced my starter motor for the second time on my b16a. i was having problems before but i wasn't sure if i bought a bad starter or what. well i replaced it for the second time and i also had a bad ground so im not sure what the actuall problem was. well today i noticed that the starter is hot after i drove the car for about 30 minutes. the starter is under the heater hose (not that i had the heat on) but should it be hot at all? its not to the point were i burn myself by touching it but it is hot. is this normall?

You sit in a boiler room for some 30 minutes and then tell me your not hot.
