Default Question about LS-Vtec (California People)

I have a 97 Civic with a JDM B16 (not barr'd). Just curious if there was anyway to use the head on a LS motor and get it barr'd? If anyone has advice that would be great. From what I have read, that seems damn near impossible; any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. . .

frankenstein motors ie. ls/vtec, b20/vtec are illegal and cannot get bar'd AT ALL because they are not a motor from the factory even if u pass smog with flying colors and give the ref a blow job.

unless u have a friend that works as a ref your not gonna pass

Damn, I thought my homo-blow-job ability would help. Oh well, time to register my car in utah. My b16 that's in it right now is stamped 89, so I guess I'm not legal now. As long as I don't get pulled over and sent to the ref. Been that way for a few years now. Guess I'm lucky.

Everything on the motor has been converted to OBD2, running the P73 ECU, I pass smog when they plug into the ECU, so frustrating that doesn't count in CA for having a smog leagal car. Who cares what year the motor is from. . .

move to Tennessee. You could put a 440 w/dual carbs in your civic and it would not only be legal, cops would try to race you........Good luck with everything......

so my question is , if you're bar'd ....you have to get a smog from the ref every 2 years? .......i thought when you bar'd you're smog legal and you can get a smog test anywhere?

No you don't have to go back to the ref. He puts a sticker on your strut tower and you go through life as though it was the stock motor.
