Default good gear ratios for high revs?

I'm running a b16 with a built head coupled with a stock J1 tranny. The head and cams mean my ideal power band is around 7250 to 9250, and I usually shift around 9500 to make sure i keep the revs high enough and give my stock clutch time to catch up. My best 1/4 is 14.5@95, which doesn't exactly match my power to weight ratio. i finish every race at 95-ish in the top of third gear. it finally dawned on me that me gearing is probably holding me back, but i don't know exactly what to do to fix it. i'm looking at ripping the tranny apart in the next 6 months to add an LSD and LS 5th gear, and i'm thinking there's got to be something i can do to the final drive to help me out. i figure honda changed the ratios pretty drastically between the LS and GSR trannies, and there's only what, 1200 rpms difference between the power bands? surely the ratios designed for a stock b16 redlining at 8200 aren't sufficient for shifting at 9500. does anyone have any ideas?
