i have a gsr motor with 12:1CR and buddy club spec 4's...i also have a jg pro series head i bought used...the top end poops out at about 7k...it just stops pulling from there on up...i'm currently running a basemap from rocket, on my hondata s100...it's not tuned yet, but i would think that it'll pull harder then this...i'm also running a stock header as of right now...so my question is, how much would a good header help me out? i've ran it open header and it still didn't pull up top...i'm thinking it could be the stock header holding me back, i need a really good tune, the head i bought was ****, or all of the above...i know i could be all of it, but what should i do first?

oh and i took it to the track and ran a crappy 14.9@93.88mph...i have a full interior '94 ex coupe with a 2 ton jack and 2 jack stands and hella other ****...so i'm thinking the car weighs a good 2700-2800 with me in it...but looking at the mph, i know i'm not making any power.

 

More than likely, you just need tuning.

If you do get it tuned and the problem persists, start looking for smoke out the tailpipe. Your rings may not have been seated correctly, resulting in your compression ending up in your oil pan.

well i did a compression test and it's 275-280 across...this was on a warmed-up motor, all spark plugs taken out, and WOT...when i get on it at high rpm's my brother says alot of blue smoke is coming out...so that's a bad sign of burning oil...i also need to do a leak down but we'll see.
