Default Overheating, PLEASE LOOK! Ideas needed....

Just put my car back together and I cant get it to stop overheating. I was wondering if maybe the intercooler is interfering with air flow to the radiator.

Here is what I have/ have done;
Its a turbo H22 eg w/ 3"DP
New 2" Aluminum radiator
New 13lb radiator cap
New thermostat
No air in the system
Fan kicks on as it should
New coolant temp sensor
Did a compression test= 195 across the board
New coolant with Water Wetter

The only thing I can think of thats left is maybe I need a new water pump....

Overflow tank bubbling?
Propelyne glycol/ water ratio?
Is your Heater core leaking? Pull up your carpet and find out.

what ratio of coolant/water?
If you are absolutely sure you are running 50/50 or 70/30 and it is still bubbling then you my friend have a blown headgasket.

get a new headgasket and and some arp headstuds

blown headgasket buddy...

try adding a little more propylene glycol to push the ratio up to 70/30 to confirm its the headgasket. Their shouldn't be any bubling at that ratio. If their is then your headgasket is leaking.

Does it only do it at idle? What brand is that radiator?

I had one of those aluminum ones from street imports with a autozone fan in my old B16 CRX. It would overheat at idle but once it got moving it would go back to normal. The fan just wasn't providing enough airflow not to mention i had to have the radiator tilted back a little to fit. If its only doing it at idle try sitting a nice shop fan infront of it and see if it does it. The autozone fans dont even have a shroud so the air isn't even sucked over the whole surface area of the radiator :\. I don't know if that makes sense but you could also try making a shroud. Just my 2 cents

My h22 was overheating right after I turboe'd it.. Turned out that the fans I bought were wired backwards and were pushing hot air from the engine into the radiator rather than pulling the air from the front of the car back. Might be something worth double checking.. Good luck

It is a Street Imports rad, the fan does have a shroud. It pushes out air, its hot air, but it does seem to push it out....

What do you mean it pushes air out?

Pusher, or Puller fan?

Either way, you should be having outside air being forced through the radiator. Just wanted to clarify. Outside being, from outside of the engine bay.

When does it overheat?

Sounds like a headgasket to me. Although recently a friend of mines car was overheating bad everytime he would boost( it would shoot up to 230 degrees right away and the overflow would boil), but then we figured out the radiator had a crack in it. He replaced that and the problem was solved.

im currently having the same issues. I have a koyo 2" AL radiator and some checkers slim fan that isnt bringing down the temps low enough to cool down the temps.
