I see things like this all the time and i know they have to be a crock or probably bad for your car. Can someone support my thoughts or give input on an item like this?

They give you super rich fuel maps and stupidly advanced timing across the board. Bad for your car. Tune it properly.

Somewhat interesting to note is that they repeatedly refer to it as an "advanced microchip". It's a resistor of some sort in a fancy package. It only has two leads on it...

They probably buy them from radio shack at $2 for a roll of 50.

EDIT:

hehe...

So other resistors magically change a manual transmission's shift points (??) but this SPECIAL resistor makes your car faster?

Oh, and look at their feedback. Someone noticed it's a resistor. It looks like some sort of chiclet with tape around it attached to a resistor.

I can show you a resistor making 20whp.

That's on a car that came broken from the factory.

It's called taking a good running car and putting in a shitty so called "performance pcm" that actually killed his power. The resistor mod nets him 13whp @ peak and as much as 22whp through out the powerband.

So he gained power by fooling a dumb pcm into making more power? Compared to stock it was probably the same though...

Nope, the resistor makes more power on the stock pcm took. I have proof of that too

What car is it? If it is a ford product, that is the reason it gained over stock PCM

Those chips for the most part are crap. Shitty fuel maps and such. You really need to get the car tuned properly according to your setup to really to bring out the real power. Most of these chips also make your car idle horribly and sputter. If these chips really were a miracle mod you would see tons of threads on here about them here but you don't for a reason.

dude this isnt even the common ECU chip we see floating around (mugen sp00m funk2, etc) this is a map sensor resistor or some circuit that fools your car into running uber-rich

NO ONE deserves 40hp for plugging in a chip.
