Default Confused...random power loss (searched)

Hello.

I've been having a problem lately. Every once and a while my car doesn't seem to have full power. The rpm's rise way slower, even if I put the pedal to the floor. You can really notice it. I'm not sure what could be causing this. I do not have a check engine light, or any CELS. I have a feeling my disturbter may be going. I want to be certain of this before I go out and buy one. Is there any way to check my coil to see if it's not functioning right? If you guys could offer some help it would be appreciated. My car is a 94 Teg with a JDM B18c engine.

Thanks.

Well, it's hard to diagnose a problem like this. It could be any number of things. Have you tried troubleshooting and then listing what you've done so we have a baseline. You don't want us to spoon feed you do you? Have you performed a tune up? Any mods? Give some more info. When you are in higher rpms and you left off the gas do you feel the power come back?

Alright. I just changed my oil last night. Checked my plugs and they are all fine. Mods: DC 4-1 Headers, AEM short ram intake, Apexi cat back exhaust, APexi VAFC. That's it. When i'm at higher rpms the power doesn't come back, its just not there. It's wierd because ill go for a drive somewhere and the car will be completely fine. Ill leave again later that day and the car won't have full power.

Hi. I had the same problem. I noticed it after long highway trips. I would press on the gas and the rpms would rise really slowly like you described, even if I floored it. I then replaced the distributer cap and rotor and haven't noticed it since. I would try that and post if it worked or not.

BUt I asked when did had your last tune up? Meaning plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor and testing your ignitor? YOu should do a major tune up every 30,000miles or 2 years.

Raver u might want to have your cat looked at. Seems it might be choking at high rpms.

Replace your cap and rotor if you haven't already.

well, i have an issue like this but it only happens once in a while and only in lower rpm's. ths started when my old dizzy dies and i got a new one. I think its the dizzy failing, but it could be a bad connection problem or mayve my throttlebody and iac valve sucking.

also, raverx3m, chill. people will respond when they want to.
