Default B16 thinks oil is beer!

whats up fellas....juss swapped my EK wit a JDM b16.....so anyway its been about 30 solid days ive had the car...i must admit (I wont lie) i frequently rev high and hit vtec very often....well i noticed on the 4th of july that my dipstic read the oil was low...(@ the first notch on dipstick)...WOW...and now today (july 7)...i noticed i had almost no oil!!!!!i immediately fed her 2 quarts of mobil 5w30....(originally 10w30). im not gonna run my car like i was doing...but is this normal...i have NO leaks and there are no signs of any oil near my sparkplugs...IS 2 quarts enough???according to the dipstick it is...but how many quarts could a b16 fit when its dry???noticed my antifreeze was a little low as well...Whats the deal fellas???is it the beating on the car thats burning up the oil...or could it be something else???

Burning a LITTLE oil due to VTEC crossover is normal. But, losing quarts within weeks is not.

Do you have any smoke coming out of your tailpipe? Was the engine rebuilt in any way? How many miles are on the engine?

Fellow Queens citizen.

My valve stem seals are out on my B18C. I go through a quart of oil every 3 weeks or 1000 miles. I check my spark plugs and there isn't any signs of oil, but my tail pipe says otherwise.

So you are losing oil and antifreeze? Do a leak down test, I think there is a chance your head gasket may be bad.

You might not have an oil leak, but you could be burning oil. Actually, it's probably positive that you are burning oil. Just to let you know, there is no way it has 20k-50k miles on it. Most are definitely past the 60k range.

Remove you spark plugs and check the condition of them.

And until you figure out why you're burning oil, stop using Mobil 1. In fact, after you figure it out, continue to use a basic, cheap motor oil and change it every 3.000 miles and you'll be just as well off as with the synthetic but with an extra $20 in your pocket.

so i guess the motor companies bluntly lie about how many miles are on their engines...

is it just me or am i seeing a lot of these threads with the b16's lately?

it's happening to me as well, run a compression and a leak down test. If there's no visible leak it's probably bad rings or valve stem seals
