Doesnt work on the 929
My dad has one for his harley and it works great in that application but, my bike has nothing but fairing and headers underneath. Probably really unstable. Better off like marmaladeboy says...get the stands instead...probably a lot more stable.

those are for bikes that have frames that go around the engine, you lift off the frame
most modern sportbikes are not designed to be lifted like that because you would be lifting off the header. there are some exeptions, my bike was designed with the header as a lift point, but it is clearly labeled as such in the manual, and has a centerstand holding most the weight.
with most sportbikes you would most likely bend/dent a head pipe with that lift. stands are your best bet. i lift from above, most front stands lift from the forks, so they are useless for a fork rebuild

my dad has an 06 Honda Shadow and he is looking for a jack.
Any reccomendations? I dont know much about bikes.. It looks like the jack that rools under and pivots the rear up will not work.
Thanks!

i put my 929 on my craftsman jack all the time... put my 750 on there as well.. just use the straps.. User it to completely rebuild my old 750 in fact of course the crusers can fit on them with out the straps...

That's plus a set of jack stands covers just about everything I need.
As soon as I get a garage/work shed I'm getting myself a worktable lift. So much easier to work on the bike when you don't have to bend down

Up from the dead.
But i'm thinking of changing my rear shocks and since the swingarm would need to be removed would this or any other motorcycle jack stand hold it up?

what bike? you don't need to remove the SA for a shock removal on any of the bikes i've ever owned...
i usually get a rearstand, get some jackstands, put jackstands under rearsets, then remove the rear stand. it gets trickier if you have folding pegs, but you can just put the jackstand under the non-folding part of the rearset.
