tranny drain ?
hey i was draining my 91 ls 2 speed tranny. ok i took of the bolt and it drained, i lifted the sides, back and a lot of misc. spots, and everytime i lifted it up, more fluid came down but it didnt completly stop. i have heard that some people drain, drive, drain more, drive more, then drain completly. when do you know if its good to refill oil. let me know thanks
o man...search?...anyways if you know where the drain bolt is...just undo that and let the fluid drain out of it until it doesnt drain anymore...put the bolt back with washer...refill...really isnt that hard
It's fine, just do it once. Even if you drain and fill like 2 or 3 times, you will probably have 25% of the old tranny fluid in the system.
It's not a big deal, if you really want to flush as much as possible, then buy like 12 bottles, keep draining and refilling, drive around in between changes for 10 minutes, and drain again. You will still have some of the old fluid in there though, which doesn't even matter. Not worth the extra $30 in my opinion.
