I just installed my H22 and I had my quaife installed by a shop and I put the tranny on and dropped in the motor, and after hooking up everything and the shift cables and all, the shifter will not shift into reverse, it's almost like it's nonexistant, so what Im wondering, is there a common install problem that would make this happen, or did the tranny shop **** me over, let me know asap, i can't have another holdback. Thanks guys.
i had that problem myself...sorta. my tranny did the same thing about a month after i swapped the motors. i was beatin on it a lil bit n went to do a 3pt turn, **** wouldnt shift into reverse. i wish i could help u out but i never really fixed it. i put my h23 tranny back in n the 22 tranny has been sittin in my garage ever since. i havnt gotten it fixed yet but i will, i miss my lsd
if you don't have ur cables mixed up, then i would have to say one of ur shift forks are bent, i bent the reverse shift fork somehow 3 times, and have the same **** your having right now

Heres the thin, before i took the tranny out, it shifted perfect into every gear, and it has not been driven on at all since the diff was put in, and they said nothing about any problems, so im almost positive that it might have been an assembly problem.
I take it you can move the shifter into the reverse position, but it is like there is no gear there? It's pretty much impossible to install the reverse shift fork wrong. I would assume if the shifter moves freely into the reverse location, that you are missing the reverse idle gear, or the reverse fork assembly.

Actually, I cannot get the shifter to go into reverse whatsoever, I can even jam it in there, I really hope that a professional shop didn't mess it up, thats why i took it there, because Im not confident working on trannys.

Well when I pulled the motor and trany, the tranny shifted perfect and had no problem whatsoever, now that the quaife is in, reverse is messed up, so I have a hard time thinking that the shift fork is bent since the tranny hasn't even been spun since the diff.
