TYPE R EMISSIONS
i have aquestion for all the integra maniacs..... i have a 95 gsr with a type r swap, i got pulled over and got an illegal emissions ticket because my engine did not match my 95 gsr title. So i went to the referee and he said i would have to change everything to a gsr or my engine will not pass smog. then i got a tip from one of my friends that owned a parts store, he told me that if i were able to get a type r emisions sticker on the inside of my door, my car would pass.... if that is true or not im not sure but if it is where would i find that PLEASE HELP
I was under the impression that newer year swaps were OK as long as all the emmissions components were installed (visual inspection) and functioning correctly and it passed the emissions testing itself.
Yes, the law is the engine has to be the same or newer year.
Also, the engine must retain the same obd standards of the car year...
Since your a 92-95, your engine must be OBD1, which I'm assuming it is since everyone's car on HT is, legal or not
If your higher than that, obd2a or b, then your like a super star role model.
But since itr start like 96+ or something like that, you car is probably at least obd1 right now.
So, your fine. As long as your engine passes the smog (treadmill/exhaust sniffer) test because thats how they test 92-95 obd1 civic/teg I believe.
Hope that helps.

How were the officials involved able to tell that the engine was not from a 95 GSR? Is every emission component that is visible on the car hooked up? And you can only get the honor of being a "Gross Polluter" by having your tailpipe emissions measured. If all of the OBD1 emissions components are hooked up, there is no reason for your car to fail the visual inspection. A motor from another Integra is legal, as long as it is from the same year or newer. A 95 LS engine, for example.
