Is that long intake tube neccessary?

The 3 foot long hard plastic thinggy that goues up by the fan? doest seem like it would help much...

yeah..thos things are just for looks...take every thing off...untill you hit the engine head...save a few lbs

Seriously Its not like it points towards the grill or anyhing, It just looks like It would be more restrictive than anything.

its a resinator (sp?) box...its supposed to quiet the stock intake ( i think thats what your talking about.)

the resonator box is down behind the bumper, the thing he is talking about is just a little ram pipe i guess you can call it.... doesnt realy do much other than restrict air and nothing... hehe...
