I've searched for information on installing intake systems, which I've done on my brothers 96-98D series, and I think I missed up somewhere, so if anyone has pics of step by step information then It would be greatly appreicated if u could show me.

What is it that you think you messed up? Did you plug the PCV tube into the supplied rubber grommet on the pipe? What is it doing that makes you think you messed up?

no all the connections are hood up, but theres like 2 things, one there's somethin from the stock intake that was connected to the plastic pipe lookin thing...its like 2 metal things put together and its connected to the valve cover...then where the factory air box theres a pipe kinda thing that was attacted to the bottom part of the airbox...and I think ur suppose to remove that as well...if I had pictures of somebody's engine bay I can explain it better

the two "pipes things" are the breather tubes for the head. and to get to the pipe under the intake box you have to take off the pass side tire and the splash gaurd. there are a few bolts holding it in. unbolt it, twist it out and it's free. put the filter in that spot on it's done. put splash guard and tire back on. check all your hoses, clamps and sensors. take it for a few miles of driving and recheck all the hose clamps. mine came off after i hit the trottle hard a few times. you will hear a very distinct sound when it does. pic to follow.

ok I got that part, but like theres another problem tho, the intake he has in the APC intake (temp intake system) and the pipe isnt as long as ur intake piping so is it still better to take the resornator pipe off?

it doesn't hurt to take off the res. unless you plan on putting the stock filter back on sometime soon. it's pretty easy to get out. there are also some hidden screws on the front bumper that hold the splash guard on.

o.k first you are installing a " ram air intake" if it;s smaller then the picture shown from civic-ex-98.
secound you can still take off the resonator box if you like, you dont' have too but you can, you will take a extra 5 lbs of the car or less.

third you should have been provited with 2 rubber hoses, take the part with 2 metal pipes attached to it and replace them with the hoses you got ...thats it !

hmm, ok so we have to raise the front up on the passenger side and remove the resonator and call it a day correct?

Are you talking about the little breather tube that has also a coolant tube attached to it that goes to the throttle body?

I totally forgot about what type car you had..... well this is a pic of my accord ex 96 f22b1.................the picture with a green circle that is a coolant line the other circle red is crank case gas hose that should help alot if that didnt then i cant help you ..............sorry


those hoses replace the metal pipes
