Default Temperature problem

I just recently sold my 1990 civic si and purchased an 88 crx si. the car itself is in perfect condition in and out. now the gauge on the cluster takes forever to get to normal operating temp and when it does, it goes back down after a while. I have checked the coolant for any signs of a head gasket leak, but everything seems fine.

the other thing that i think it might be, is the actual thermostat itself. Can i get some peoples opinions on this pls.

Thanks,
Justin

Check to see if the thermostat is stuck open.

Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it!!

sounds like the problem to me too. Replace your tstat and it will probably work better.

I'd rather have a car run too cool than too hot any day.
