Honestly man, if you can find a good, recomended exhaust shop, they can custom make you one, to your specs, for cheap. If you are boosted, you might want to go with 3"... But thats up to you. Depends on horsepower output. I know the guys at a local exhaust shop, and all I had to do was pick the muffler I wanted, and bring it to them. It took 30 minutes, and I got it done for $100. I have a lot of friends in this scene and they all tell me how good my exhaust sounds. It's really deep, and not loud, but noticablely not stock.

If you don't want something too loud or flashy, get a RSR ex-mag! Nice sleeper look with performance in mind

That I think would be perfect. If you didnt care about the noise Id probably say the apexi n1 but since you wnat it to be quiet, the rsr exmag is my very nice choice.. It looks very nice and sounds very nice.

for a lil less than that around 600 you can pick upa thermal research 3 inch exhaust. it doesnt have the riceyyy exhaust sound but it has more of an aggresive meaner deep sound to it. and the diameter is 3 inch. cant beat that ! i had it on my turbo gsr b4 i wrecked! im on a greddy evo2 but i will soon get a thermal again

Maybe the T1R also. 2.5 inches all the way through.
