Default jdm h22 timing/distributor instal help...

well, i have a jdm h22a in a 92 accord... (im actually working on tunning it right now) never mind that though.... well, i was trying to get my basemap to work right when the dredded h22 distributor **** the bed on me... now i was just wondering if the distributor going bad may have messed up stuff in my head (how would i know if **** was damaged) and how do i install the new distrib to make sure its set at the proper timming (is that a mark or something?) thanks guys...

put the new distributor on and set it in the middle, and if you are **** use a timing light to set timing on it.

kool, thats what i figured... now i was also told that the h22 timing was "different" with the h22... for example... you could turn the distributor all you want and not affect the timing... i guess what im asking is.. how do i adjust the timing on the h22? thanks again...

Actually it can damage the whole head when a distributor bearing stalls... Then it locks and your camshaft wants to spin Something will give up. Mostly camshaft. You can imagine the result

oh boy.. haha.. i dont think it stalled though.. i think it just wore out ... it had the typical "red dust" in the cap but when i took the distrib out it would spin ok but you could hear it grinding... thanks for the info... does anyone else have any tips on timing this bitch? thanks...

if you have an obd1 distrbutor you can adjust timing. if its ob2 then you cannot.
