Default EGR kit

Recently my check engine light went on and one of my buddy has a friend that works at honda. We told the guy about the engine light. And he asked us how many miles was on the accord.(which is 80000) He says most Accord from 98-2000 and is V6. once its up to 70000 to 85000 miles the egr goes bad. So honda has this egr kit? or something? well i was just wondering if any one had theres change and could u please tell me was it difficult? and how much was that part? thanks

There's a special drill bit that you have to use or you will drill through your intake if your not careful. Not to hard though. If you need specifics let me know I can walk you through it.

before you go spending money on an egr, you may want to double check that cel code first.

put it on a code scanner or take it up to the local autozone to have them do it for you (free).

honda warranty covers that for 80,000 miles,if you are a few over, you should go talk to ypur dealer because it is a standing recall.

ask the Dealer if they will good will it and they might knock some off the price, also you can call the number in the manual and talk to Honda themselves and see if they will talk to the dealership as well. My mom had hers go at 83,xxx miles and they still fixed it for free.

OH yeah, and if not try a different dealer, would be better if you went to the dealer that has always serviced the car. They tend to be more flexible with goodwiling a repair.
